The colorful painted finish is all original on this chest with two deep drawers, monogram on top (WC?). Generations of use are revealed in the distress to the painted finish, many areas are worn down to the natural pine wood below.
The floral embellishments, black trim, and faux wood background were traditional Folk Art elements during the 1800s.
Tapered feet, brass pulls, no lock/keys.
This chest of drawers has been restored, the wax finish adds a soft luster to the piece, and the drawers function.
All scratches, cracks, dings/gouges, stains, and age related separation are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this blanket chest. See in particular photos of the top.
