This exceptional Gustavian bench is a special find. Note the original pale gray painted finish (with faint green and blue undertones), now scraped down revealing a warm aged patina reflecting the age and grace of this lovely pine bench.
Simple braided carving trims the arms and back, adding to its timeless appeal.
This bench was originally designed with a removable seat vs hinged, revealing storage space below. However, with the current upholstered seat adding to the snug fit, it is easier to leave the bench seat in place.
Note the simple muslin upholstery which has been stapled in place. This bench may be placed and enjoyed as is or the seat can easily be re-upholstered at discretion of buyer.
Restored, strong and functional this bench is ready for use. 
All scratches, cracks, dings, and age related separation are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this lovely Swedish Gustavian bench.
