This exceptional Gustavian pine bench is a special find. Note the original pale gray/green painted finish (with traces of blue as well), now scraped down revealing a warm aged patina reflecting the age and grace of this lovely pine bench.
The finials, tapered feet, and decorative carved details are all original.
This bench was originally designed with a removable seat (vs hinged), revealing storage space below. We have added a temporary foam pad covered in linen for buyer to see what this bench may look like when upholstered (which we leave to discretion of buyer).
Restored, strong and functional this bench is ready to be used and enjoyed.
Back was painted at a later/more recent point in time as it was originally designed to sit against a wall.
All scratches, cracks, dings, and age related separation are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this lovely Swedish Gustavian bench.
