Stunning pair of inlaid marquetry rococo cabinets, after a masterpiece by Jonas Hultsten (master in Stockholm 1773-1794). Exceptional to find just one, and to locate a pair with such dramatic scale (just under 8' tall and 5.5' wide) is a rare find.
Rococo style, made at Carl Malmstensskolan in Stockholm, work completed in 1947.
Intricate veneer with fruit tree wood, fittings in gilded bronze, door with recessed mirror glass.
Constructed in three sections: crown, upper cabinet, and base with two large drawers.
Lock to doors function with (2) included keys. Drawers open with two large brass pulls each.
Restored, strong and stable; ready to be placed and admired. Condition: minor veneer nicks/loss, overall good condition.
All scratches, cracks, dings, and age related separation are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this remarkable pair of elegant cabinets that will serve as a timeless statement of refined style and sophistication.
