Swedish Rococo Black Painted Secretary Bureau Dated 1778

This rococo secretary has a monogram of KNS and date of 1778 seen along the front desk top and rests on bun feet.
The dramatic serpentine drawers with curvaceous front and brass pulls add a romantic touch.
The traditional interior with twelve small drawers and central “cubbie” offers perfect space to organize.
Later professionally custom painted with a layered black painted exterior complimented by a blue interior, gently distressed to fit the aged grace of this Swedish secretary.
Restored, drawers function, desktop is solid and ready to be used and enjoyed. Note old repairs (visible in the back photo).

All age-related cracks (see sides), distress, age-related separation of wood (seen in drawer bottoms), signs of wear are commensurate with age and do not impact the beauty nor function of this striking secretary or "bureau." Both oak and pine were used in its construction.
