The black painted finish complements the serpentine curves in this large oak chest of four drawers resting on cabriolet feet.
While the paint is older, it is not original to this rococo style chest that dates back to the 1700's. Note throughout the finish there are scratches, and areas distressed down to the natural wood below which add to the aged character of this 250 year old dresser.
This large chest is built in three sections; the case sections of two drawers each, both resting on a frame base with skirt and four feet.
Each drawer had two large brass pulls. There is no functioning lock and key (key only for display).
Restored, strong, stable and ready for use.
All scratches, cracks(sides/top), dings, and age related separation (seen in drawer bottoms) are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this special accent table.
