Antique Swedish Mora Grandfather clock with original blue painted finish. The monogram indicates this clock was likely a wedding or dowry present.
Pine longcase with original folk art paint with traditional flower motif. The original clock required the commissioning of 3 professionals; the carpenter, painter and clock professional who designed the clockworks, face and hands.
Original clock face and hands included. Clock works do not function. It appears the pendulum and chains were replaced in the past (aprx) 50 years. Most clients upon receipt opt to have a battery function installed for ease of use.
Longcase is restored and waxed, solid and ready to be placed in home. Age related nicks, scratches, dried old wormholes, and wear to painted finish reflect over 250 years of use. Note holes in back of clock were likely where original owner secured clock to the wall for stability.
