The painted finish is all original on this rustic pine flat top trunk. Flowers were a traditional embellishment as seen on the front of this handcrafted trunk with red flowers contrasting against the dark blue background. The  rich patina of the pine top reflects generations of use.
A faded monogram and date are seen in white along the bottom front.
This trunk rests on raised feet. Note photo of interior that reveals a small box to store smaller personal items.
Restored, strong and stable, this pine trunk is ready to be used and enjoyed. Wax finish. No lock nor key.
All scratches, cracks, nicks, dings, stains, dried old worm holes and age related separation are reflective of age and do not detract from the rustic appeal nor function of this chest. See legs, one has been replaced.
