The gold trim and unique painted figures with trees and shrubbery were a style elment of the mid-1800's in Sweden. As you examine the photos, notice the earlier painted finish is revealed where the black paint has been worn off. To the left and right sides of the face you will see a small window, allowing one to view the interior clockworks. The wood casework on this Swedish Mora grandfather clock has been restored, so it is strong and stable, ready to be placed in your home. Any original clock works remaining will be included with the long case but they are not in working condition. The crackles in paint, dings, cracks and scratches are all reflective of generations of use and do not impact the function of this authentic Swedish Mora Grandfather clock.
