Small dome top trunk from Sweden dated 1846.  The burnished orange background and light blue accent is all hand painted in the traditional folk style of the era.
The worn patina adds to its ageless appeal, while other signs of wear are commensurate with age such as the cracks along the top and interior bottom, nicks, marks, distress (seen along bottom edge/corners/sides, etc) etc., none of which detract from the beauty of this highly original painted trunk.
Restored, this pine trunk is strong, stable and ready to be enjoyed. No lock.
