Impressive late 18th-century French pine bookcase showing a deep aged patina and traditional provincial design. At over ten feet tall, the two-part ("Deux Corp") cabinet offers substantial storage and a commanding presence for displaying collections. The scalloped carved skirt and curved feet add graceful detail; rear feet show expected scuffs and wear from years of use.
Restored, strong, and stable, the interior has been painted a newer pale blue-gray. Original French long hinges remain in place; three skeleton keys are included. Some locks function, while others use key to serve as pulls only. Typical age-related signs of wear include cracks along lower doors and sides, as well as scuffs and wear throughout, especially along the top edge. Lower shelves in each section appear newer or replaced. All shelves are removable.
All scratches, cracks, dings, and age related separation are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this stunning display cabinet.
