This original painted pine sideboard is a wonderful example of Swedish country craftsmanship with a warm, aged patina in the brick red painted finish with contrasting blue painted decorative diamonds. Note faded monogram and date of 1843 along right upper corner.
The carved fluting inside the three decorative diamonds were a traditional Swedish style element of the era as was the faux wood painted background.
Two doors open to reveal two interior shelves. Exterior latch holds each door in place.
Restored, strong and stable this cabinet is ready for use. Wax finish. Old repairs seen along top.
All scratches, cracks (see top), dings, stains and age related separation (see top and back) are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this special sideboard. Dried wormholes visible, see top/back/feet etc.
