This lovely chest of drawers has multiple elements which combine to create an exceptional piece. The original painted finish has lovely flourishes in the monograms, date of 1846 encircled by green leaves, and folk-art decorative drawers. Take a close look at the original painted finish, with tones of red, brick, salmon all combining with a wonderful aged patina. The addition of the curved skirted base add to the romance of this piece which will also serve well as a nightstand or small side table. This narrow chest of drawers has been professionally restored and waxed, it is strong and all the drawers function. Any old nicks, scratches, dings, etc. are commensurate with age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of the dresser. A rare find, this highly painted chest of drawers will be a lovely addition to one's home.
