Original Painted Swedish Mora Grandfather Clock , Dated 1850

Swedish Mora grandfather clock dated 1850, crafted in pine with original brick-red or burgundy paint now softly scraped to reveal the natural wood beneath. A hand-painted monogram and date accent the front (appears to be newer paint on top of scraped surface), with subtle dusky blue trim along the edges. Original hinges, clock face, and hands remain intact.
Age-related cracks and separation visible along the face, sides, and base. The long case has been restored, strong, and stable. Clockworks do not function, though any remaining original parts including pendulum are included with shipment. Many buyers choose to add a battery mechanism for convenience. Mora clocks remain one of Sweden’s most timeless designs, lending warmth and history to any interior.
All scratches, cracks, dings, and age related separation are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this 6.5' Swedish Mora longcase grandfather clock.
