Early 19th Century Danish Mahogany Empire Inlaid Secretary Bureau

Early 19th-century Danish Empire secretary bureau crafted in mahogany veneer with both bowfront and concave cabinet doors. The piece features elaborate inlay and marquetry throughout, including Grecian figures, animals, and decorative motifs. Interior details include bear, snake, bird, and dog depicted on the central cubby door.
The secretary opens to reveal multiple interior drawers, extensive storage, and sliding compartments designed for paperwork. A leather writing surface with gold embossed edging can be raised to various angles. Below are three large traditional large drawers, opened using a skeleton key as a pull; locks no longer function.
The cabinet is constructed in three sections for easier transportation and installation. Minor surface nicks, scratches, and old repairs are visible, consistent with age. The glowing mahogany veneer highlights the exceptional craftsmanship from crown to feet. Restored, strong, stable, and ready for use.
