19th-century Swedish work table or console with an original pine base and a reclaimed wood top. The base retains early construction details, including two wood dowels at each end that secure the stretcher base. The thick tabletop was reclaimed from historic train boxcar flooring once used to haul goods, bringing layered history and industrial character to the piece.
Years of use are evident in the tabletop through deep gouges, stains, and scratches that have been carefully sanded to create a smooth yet intentionally distressed surface. The substantial top pairs well with the aged pine base. Two thick lower stretchers form an open interior space suitable for storage, measuring approximately 59 inches long by 4 inches deep by 9¼ inches high. Additional wear is visible at the bottom interior of the left foot, consistent with long-term use.
Restored, strong, and stable, this table is ready for use and offers a compelling blend of rustic Swedish craftsmanship and reclaimed industrial material.
