The Biedermeier period was famous for the creation of dramatic sofas, such as this original settee seen here. The large, arched back is complimented by the impressive arms, which visually seem to spiral outward from the carved, floral medallion into the applied carving of leaves. The entire sofa rests upon massive carved feet that ground the sofa both visually and literally.  The seat is easy to re-upholster with a more contemporary fabric. This item is being sold in as is, original used condition how we discovered it in Denmark.
