Pair of 19th-century Swedish Gustavian chests of drawers crafted in pine with newer professionally applied layered black painted finish. The paint has been lightly distressed to reveal natural pine beneath, complementing the age of the pieces.
Each chest features three drawers, each fitted with two brass pulls, and drawer fronts composed of three paneled sections. One chest includes an upper drawer divided into three interior compartments. Decorative elements include dentil molding along the top, carved Greek key meander at the base, canted sides with simple fluting, and applied carved swag decoration at the upper section.
Both chests rest on tapered, fluted feet. Minor cracks, scratches, and surface wear are present throughout, consistent with long use. Restored, strong, and stable, this pair is ready for use and offers timeless Gustavian styling with practical storage. Will serve as excellent matched nightstands also.
