Early 19th Century Danish Black Painted Pine Secretary Bureau

Early 19th-century Danish pine secretary bureau with a newer professionally applied layered black painted finish, selected to suit the age and style of the piece. The lower drawers feature a serpentine front that adds a graceful, romantic profile, with the lowest drawer divided into three interior sections. Drawer bottoms show typical age-related cracks and separation.
The desktop opens on hinges to reveal an interior painted in contrasting blue, fitted with nine small drawers and additional storage compartments. The writing surface rests securely when open. A key is included and used as a pull to open the desk; the lock itself no longer functions.
The bureau stands on cabriole feet. Age-related cracks and wood separation are visible along the top, sides, and feet, consistent with early pine construction and long use, and do not impact function. Restored, strong, and stable, this secretary is ready for use as both storage and writing furniture.
