19th-century Swedish pair of pine chests of drawers with a newer professionally applied layered gray painted finish. The surface shows a mottled texture with faint white undertones, adding depth and visual softness to the finish. Decorative details include dental molding along the top, traditional fluting on the top drawer, canted fluted sides topped by applied carved diamond motifs.
Each chest rests on tapered fluted feet and features drawers fitted with two brass pulls each. There are no keys or functioning locks. Typical age-related scratches and nicks are visible beneath the painted surface.
The pair has been restored, is strong and stable, and is ready for use. Their balanced proportions and matching form make them an ideal pair for use as nightstands alongside a queen or king-size bed.
