Original painted Swedish hanging cabinet dated 1800, crafted in pine with original hinges and a richly aged painted surface. The cabinet features a brick red ground with a dark green border framing the paneled door, which is decorated with a traditional floral motif.
Above the door, the carved crown retains a visible monogram and the date “1800,” suggesting the cabinet may have been commissioned for a special purpose, potentially as part of a dowry or wedding present. Beneath the cabinet is a petite drawer painted with delicate floral decoration; it opens easily.
Age-related wear includes distress to the painted finish, nicks to the surface, cracks and old repairs around the crown and door, and wood separation along the base. The lock and key no longer function, though the key sits loosely and may be used as a pull. Signs of old dried wormhole activity are visible along the back and front. Stable and ready to hang.
