19th Century Original Painted Swedish Mora Grandfather Clock

19th-century Swedish Mora grandfather clock crafted in pine with an original painted finish. The surface is heavily distressed, revealing natural wood beneath; the overall effect reads as blue against the pine with touches of teal showing through. A simple red floral motif adds contrast. Carved fluted detailing accents the lower section, while the top features graceful curves and a latticework crown with dental molding.
The clock retains a very old original clock face and original hinges. Age and use are evident throughout, including significant distress to the painted finish and visible cracks and nicks along both sides. The wood long case has been restored, is stable, and is ready for placement.
The original clockworks do not function. Many buyers opt to install a battery-operated mechanism for ease of use; this is left to the buyer’s discretion.
