18th-century Swedish hanging corner cabinet crafted in pine with original painted finish. The exterior retains a brown background with red and blue accents, with canted sides featuring narrow painted panels. The central door panel shows a carved crown with remnants of painted floral decoration.
The lower portion of the central door is painted with the date 1721, while above the door a carved monogram includes the date 1772. The crown is finished with scallop-carved blue painted detailing. The cabinet has an exceptional aged patina, with extensive distress throughout the painted finish that contributes to the authenticity of its age. Old repairs are visible along the crown, with additional scratches, cracks, and age-related separation present.
The back shows old dried wormholes and old repairs. The interior was painted a pink-mauve color at a later point in time. The lock and key function loosely and inconsistently; the buyer may prefer to use the key as a pull only. Restored, strong, stable, and ready to hang.
