19th-century Swedish Gustavian chest of three drawers crafted in pine. The narrow top drawer features fluted carving, while the crown is detailed with classic egg-and-dart molding. The chest rests on tapered, fluted feet and is fitted with two brass pulls on each drawer; a key is included for decorative purposes only.
The exterior has a newer, professionally applied layered gray painted finish, lightly distressed throughout to suit the age and refined character of the piece. Wider than many chests of this era, it offers generous storage. Drawer interiors show typical age-related staining and some cracking, while the exterior surface displays minor cracks, nicks, and dings consistent with age and use.
Restored, strong, stable, and ready for use. Date of 1825 painted along back.
