19th Century Chinese Yellow Lacquered Altar Table Console

19th-century Chinese altar or console table crafted in elmwood, retaining its original yellow lacquered finish. The table features four drawers, each hand painted with floral scenes flanked by tree and bamboo motifs. The curved legs and central lower panel display carved relief details highlighted with painted accents in green, blue, red, and orange.
The top shows age-related separation and cracking, with additional nicks and gouges; despite this, the surface remains smooth to the touch. Age-related cracks are also visible along the base, which were restored at an earlier point in time. Distress to the painted finish is present throughout, but retains a buffed laquer finish.
The back was left natural, indicating the table was not intended to be freestanding. Restored, strong, stable, and ready for use as a console table.
