19th-century Swedish pine sideboard or buffet retaining its original black painted finish. The paint surface shows extensive age and wear, especially around the doors where the piece was handled over time, as well as across the top resulting in a warm patina. The sideboard has two cabinet doors with simple paneled detailing and slightly curved canted sides.
The interior opens to two full-size shelves plus an additional upper half shelf shaped with a cutout. The shelves show stains, nicks, and signs of old dried wormhole activity. Age-related separation is visible along the sides, with cracks, nicks, gouges, and scratches present across the top, sides, and overall surface. Old wormhole activity is also noted along the back and top. An old repair is visible at the back upper corners and newer rear feet.
Restored, strong, stable, and ready for use, offering authentic Swedish character and useful storage. Due to its depth, may also serve as a narrow console in an urban farmhouse setting.
