Late 19th century Swedish Gustavian style sideboard or buffet crafted in pine with two drawers over fluted cabinet doors. The case features fluted side columns topped with carved floral medallions and a decorative skirt detailed with an egg-and-dart pattern, all resting on fluted tapered feet. The sideboard presents well from the sides, with additional carved detail visible in profile.
The exterior has a newer professionally applied layered gray painted finish with subtle white undertones, lightly distressed to reveal natural wood beneath and suit the character of the piece. The interior is painted a contrasting white, and the back is finished in a newer distressed white as well.
Both drawers function smoothly; the right drawer shows a red stain on the interior bottom. Minor cracks are visible along the top and doors which do not impact function or overall appeal. The left door secures with a sliding latch at the bottom, while the right door secures with a functioning lock and key. Restored, strong, stable, and ready to use.
