19th Century Large French Bleached Oak Carved Bookcase Display Cabinet

19th century large French bleached oak bookcase and display cabinet featuring extensive and highly expressive hand carving throughout. Elaborate carved details include putti faces, lion heads, foliage, scalloped elements, and seven carved lion mouths fitted with brass rings. The cabinet presents three glass doors in the upper section and three glass doors below. The central upper door opens using a key as a pull only, as the lock no longer functions. The lower three cabinet doors open with brass pulls mounted at the upper corners. Shelving features decorative carved detailing along the front edges. The lower cabinet rests on (front) ball and claw feet which show significant age-related wear consistent with use. Typical cracks, nicks, distress, and old repairs are visible throughout and do not detract from the dramatic visual impact. The back shows age-related separation of planks, and dried old wormhole activity is noted along the top. At almost 7' wide and 8' tall, this impressive cabinet has been restored, is strong, stable, and ready for use as a commanding display piece.
