Pair of Early 20th Century Black Painted Pine Bookcases

Early 20th-century pair of pine bookcases with a newer matte black painted finish, lightly distressed to reveal natural wood beneath. Each bookcase features tall glass panel doors allowing for clear display of books or collections. The painted finish shows distress with scratches, nicks, and wear visible throughout, though less apparent due to the dark finish.
One bookcase contains three interior shelves measuring approximately 13 inches deep and retains original hanging pegs along the upper rear interior, indicating it likely began life as an armoire with wood panel doors. The second bookcase offers deeper shelving at approximately 17 inches. Both pieces include a single lower drawer.
Interior pine surfaces show typical age-related separation, cracks, stains, and scratches consistent with use, none of which impact function. Both doors close and lock with included skeleton keys, though function may be inconsistent; buyers may prefer to use keys as pulls only. Additional wear is visible along the crowns and edges.
Both bookcases have been restored, are strong, stable, and ready for use.
