Original 19th-century Swedish pine corner cabinet dated 1846, featuring its original hand-painted folk art finish. The exterior displays a traditional faux wood brown painted background typical of the era, with bowfront cabinet doors and painted floral bouquets centered within each of the four front panels. The upper right interior door retains painted monograms and the date of 1846, adding historical significance.
Both the upper and lower cabinet sections secure with the original key, though the locks operate stiffly and may be best used gently or as pulls only. The left door is held in place with its original interior metal latch. The interior was repainted in the early 20th century, showing a simple orange and brown painted design that contrasts with the exterior folk art finish.
Typical age-related wear is present throughout, including cracks, scratches, gouges, and age-related separation along the back, all consistent with a cabinet of this age. The piece has been restored for structural integrity and remains strong, stable, and ready for use. A genuine example of Swedish country craftsmanship, this corner cabinet offers both decorative folk art appeal and practical storage.
