19th-Century Swedish Pine Sideboard or Buffet

This 19th-century Swedish pine sideboard features deep canted sides with paneled cabinet doors, creating a compact yet visually appealing country form. The cabinet doors open with upper brass knobs and are secured using interior metal snap latches. Three central drawers are fitted with two large brass pulls. Drawer bottoms show typical age-related cracking, along with old knots that have fallen out over time, resulting in small openings consistent with antique pine construction.
The case rests on four turned feet and is finished with a gently scalloped skirt, a detail echoed in the subtle curve of the top. Faint remnants of a burnished red painted finish remain on the top surface, providing a soft contrast against the warm, aged pine. The top shows age-related stains, minor cracks, and nicks typical of a piece from this period. Additional age-related separation of planks is visible along the back, with scattered cracks and small nicks along the front.
Compact in scale yet rich in character, this Swedish country sideboard offers both charm and practical storage. The piece has been restored, is strong and stable, and is ready for everyday use. Wax finish.
