19th century Austrian hand painted chest of three drawers. Constructed of pine with its original hand painted finish in vibrant blue, red, yellow, and green tones executed in a traditional folk art style. Painted decoration continues along the sides of the case. The wood shows evidence of generations of use, including surface distress, old gouges, cracks, and wear to the painted finish. Each drawer opens with two large brass pulls. Interior drawer bottoms show signs of age, including old wormhole activity, cracks, and gouges. The piece has been restored, is structurally strong, stable, and ready for use.
