19th-Century Hungarian Hand-Painted Pine Chest of Three Drawers

19th-century Hungarian painted pine chest of three drawers with riginal hand-painted finish. Traditional blue background, green painted panels outlined in red and white, each displaying a floral motif. Three large drawers, each opening with two brass pulls. No keys or functioning locks. Raised on four bun feet.
The chest has been restored, is strong and stable, and has been given a waxed finish that adds a soft luster to both the pine and the painted surface. Typical signs of age and use are present, including extensive wear along the top where the paint has worn away to reveal the natural pine below. Scratches, cracks, and gouges are visible throughout, with additional wear along the feet and edges. Both sides show age-related separation of planks. Some old wormhole activity is visible along the exterior and within the drawers, but this does not impact function.
Larger in scale, this chest was likely used for storing blankets or personal textiles. The upper and bottom drawers show some sagging; this does not affect usability but is noted for accuracy. Restored, strong, stable, and ready for use.
