19th-Century Hungarian Hand-Painted Pine Armoire Dated 1868

19th-century Hungarian two-door armoire crafted in pine and retaining its original hand-painted finish. The cabinet features turned columns flanking the doors and rests on simple block feet. The background is painted a warm brown tone, while the panels and trim are accented in brick red. Each of the four door panels displays a white painted urn filled with floral arrangements, complemented by vine motifs and decorative red detailing throughout.
Centered in the upper crown is the painted date 1868, suggesting the armoire may have originally served as a wedding or dowry piece. Some nicks, cracks, and distress to the painted surface are visible, consistent with age. The original lock remains and functions somewhat loosely. The interior opens to reveal two shelves showing age-related separation yet remaining solid and functional. The armoire has been restored, is strong, stable, and ready for use.
