Original Hand-Painted Austrian Pine Two Door Armoire Dated 1785

Original hand-painted Austrian pine armoire dated 1785. The cabinet retains its original painted finish in soft teal, pale blue, white, and faded red tones. Floral motifs decorate the four front door panels and canted sides, while beneath the crown a faux marble motif frames the central date of 1785, suggesting the piece may have originally served as a wedding or dowry cabinet.
The original lock and key remain present and functional. Long wrought iron hinges run the length of the doors. The interior reveals divided storage sections, with a hanging rod on the left side. Age-related distress is visible throughout, including surface wear, scratches, nicks, cracks along the left door, and scattered residual dried wormhole activity that does not impact structural integrity. The armoire has been restored, is strong, stable, and ready for use. A beautiful and authentic example of late 18th-century Austrian craftsmanship.
