Early 19th-century Swedish trunk or lockbox crafted in pine and raised on turned legs with a stretcher base, creating a distinctive and functional side table. The trunk retains its original faux wood painted finish, adding depth and character to the piece.
Heavy decorative metal corners, side handles, and iron accents reinforce its original purpose as a secure lockbox intended to protect household valuables and important papers. The original key is included for display; however, the lock is no longer present.
Age-related scuffs, scratches, and gouges are visible along the top, legs, and body. Typical separation of planks can be seen along the front, consistent with early pine construction. Signs of old dried wormhole activity are present in the interior but do not affect structural integrity. The piece has been restored, remains strong and stable, and is ready for use.
This raised lockbox offers a highly unique option as a side table or accent piece, blending early Swedish craftsmanship with practical versatility.
