Early 19th century French sideboard crafted in oak and finished with a bleached surface, giving the wood a lighter appearance suited for modern interiors.
The cabinet features carved panel doors accented with floral and leaf carvings. A scalloped, curved skirt runs along the base, and the piece rests on gently curved feet.
The top shows age-related separation of planks along with cracks, stains, and visible distress from years of use. The interior includes a shelf, with the bottom showing considerable wear including older repairs, cracks, and scratches. Old dried wormholes are present, particularly along the back as well as in other areas.
The key operates stiffly and is best used as a pull only. The left door is secured with an interior sliding metal latch. The sideboard has been restored and is strong, stable, and ready to use.
