Late 18th century Swedish wedding cabinet crafted in pine. The cabinet features a black painted finish that was applied later in its life but has aged over time. The heavily distressed surface reveals areas of natural pine beneath, adding depth and character.
The upper cabinet doors open with a key and reveal a pale mint green painted interior that was applied more recently. Inside are two shelves and four interior drawers providing additional storage.
Beneath the upper cabinet are two small pull-out shelves, possibly originally intended for holding candles.
The lower section includes four drawers. The two larger drawers open with brass pulls, while the two smaller upper drawers open using key and lock mechanisms.
The cabinet stands on curved cabriole feet. Cracks and age-related separation are visible along the back, while nicks and scrapes throughout reflect generations of use.
The cabinet has been restored and is strong, stable, and ready for use. Old repairs seen along back.
