This lovely bench is a wonderful example of Swedish Gustavian craftsmanship with turned finials and legs, slat back and egg and dart carving adding to its timeless appeal.
The gray painted finish (with white undertones) has been scraped revealing the natural pine below.
Please note the bench seat is covered in a newer light gray linen fabric simply stapled in place to demonstrate what this bench may look like when properly upholstered. Exposed staples.
This wood bench has been restored and is solid/stable; all nicks, scratches, distress, aged separation and signs of wear are commensurate with age and do not impact the function nor beauty of this lovely Swedish pine bench. See photos of back to understand the bench was designed to be placed against a wall and is not free-standing. Some clients opt to upholster the back in such a way as to cover the wood below the seat.
