19th century Swedish Biedermeier secretary bureau crafted in birch veneer with warm golden yellow tones.
The clean-lined form includes an upper drawer, central fall-front desk area, and three lower drawers. The desktop drops on hinges to reveal a fitted interior with multiple small drawers and storage compartments. A long hidden drawer sits above the open desk interior, and paired columns flank the central inner cabinet door.
One of the small key and lock still function, though they must be aligned correctly. Most of the old locks no longer function, and those that do operate stiffly. Included keys are best used as pulls.
Scratches and some gouges are visible throughout the top, sides, and body. These signs of wear do not detract from the function or overall beauty of this handsome secretary.
The bureau has been restored and is strong, stable, and ready to use. The streamlined front highlights the beauty of the veneer.
