Late 18th Century Black Rococo Oak Chest of Five Drawers, Denmark

The black painted finish is striking in this attractive large oak chest of five drawers flanked by turned fluted columns, decorative carved skirt, resting on turned fluted feet.
Dentil molding and decorative carved details elevate the classic appeal of this handsome large chest or dresser.
While the paint is newer and professionally applied, it compliments the age, rococo style and serpentine curves of this chest that dates back to the late 1700's.
The layered black painted finish has been distressed, creating aged character while revealing the natural wood below.
Each drawer had two brass pulls making them easy to open and use. Note the upper narrow drawer is almost hidden, as it appears to simply be decorative but opens to reveal narrow storage.
This strong and elegant oak dresser has been restored and is ready for use. Drawer bottoms and sides were constructed in pine, typical of the craftsmanship of this era.
All scratches, cracks (top and sides), dings, and age related separation (drawer bottoms and back) are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this large chest of five drawers. Single key included as accent only.
