Large 19th century Swedish Gustavian corner cabinet crafted in pine, standing stately at 8 feet tall.
The cabinet features traditional fluted carving on four panel doors. Additional decorative elements include dentil molding at the crown and center, beaded carving at the crown, applied floral medallions, and carved faces.
A later professionally applied layered painted finish presents in light gray with antique white undertones. The finish has been lightly distressed, revealing natural wood beneath and complementing the age and character of the piece.
The interior is painted in a newer pale mint green. Built in two sections for easier transportation and installation, the upper section includes a raised arch allowing for additional display or storage.
Upper cabinet doors open to reveal one large shelf and one upper half shelf with notches originally intended for display of family silver spoons.
Two original locks function with a single key, though the key may be used as a pull for ease of use.
This elegant corner cabinet has been restored and is strong, stable, and ready to use. Minor age-related cracks and separation are visible but do not detract from the overall presence. Cracks, separation of planks and old repairs seen along back.
