19th Century Swedish Gustavian Gray Painted Backless Pine Bench Settee

19th century Swedish Gustavian bench crafted in pine. This backless settee features graceful arms that curve slightly outward and is raised on saber feet.
The carved side arms include leaf, swag, and medallion detailing, adding decorative interest to the form. The bench is freestanding.
The later applied light gray painted finish (with antique white undertones) has been lightly scraped and distressed, revealing natural pine beneath and adding depth and character.
Restored, strong, stable, and ready to use. Minor cracks are visible along the arms and legs, along with light separation at seams consistent with age.
The seat presents with a deconstructed muslin upholstery, tacked in place with exposed thread and secured to the wood base. This can be easily reupholstered at the buyer’s discretion with modern fabric.
