19th century Hungarian one-door armoire crafted in pine, retaining its original hand painted finish.
The exterior features a faux wood background in earth tones of brown and russet, with decorative panels including a painted figure above and a floral motif below set against a teal blue ground. Additional floral decoration appears on the canted sides.
The cabinet rests on two front bun feet and retains its original wrought iron hinges. The door closes with a simple metal latch.
The interior reveals a unique configuration. The right side is open with hand-carved pegs for hanging items, while the left side includes shelving and a single drawer.
This armoire has been restored, is stable and ready for use.
The back shows age-related separation of planks. Wear throughout includes scratches, nicks, dings, gouges, and loss to the painted finish. Minor wear is visible along the feet. Signs of old dried wormhole activity are present, particularly along the back; all of which is inactive and of no concern.
