Early 19th century Swedish Gustavian wedding cabinet crafted in pine. The cabinet is constructed in three sections for easier installation, including crown, upper cabinet, and lower cabinet.
The lower cabinet doors feature traditional carved fluted diamond panels. The overall form includes a curved bonnet or crown and a slightly scalloped base skirt, creating balanced proportions.
The cabinet has been finished in a newer light gray painted surface with antique white undertones. Large dovetail joints are visible at the feet.
The upper cabinet opens to reveal a monogram and the date 1831 on the inside right door. The interior includes three shelves and an upper notched half shelf originally used to display family silver serving spoons. Four additional small drawers are also present inside.
The interior has been painted in a newer blue finish, distressed to fit the age, with drawers finished in a contrasting cream or antique white.
Typical age-related cracks and scratches are visible across the top, doors, and sides. The cabinet has been restored and is strong, stable, and ready for use.
Two keys are included and function with the original locks (but buyer may opt to use keys as pulls only for ease of use).
