Original Painted Swedish Pine Cabinet Dated 1857

Original painted Swedish cabinet dated 1857, crafted in pine and built in 2 sections. The lower cabinet features two doors and one slender upper drawer, while the upper section includes a raised area that allows for additional storage or serving use. Original painted panels in antique white gray are bordered with green, and the faux wood painted background reflects the traditional folk art style of the era. Much of the paint is distressed and worn down to the natural pine below, adding to the aged character of the piece. The upper cabinet doors are embellished with decorative monograms and the date 1857, indicating this may have been a wedding or dowry present. The upper cabinet lock and key still function, though a bit stiffly, and the interior opens to reveal three shelves and an upper notched half shelf that originally displayed family silver spoons, and serving pieces. Restored strong, stable, and ready for use. Surface wear includes staining to the shelves, scratches, wear, and nicks throughout the painted finish. The lower cabinet left door secures with an interior hook using a bit of force, and the right door lock and key still function rather stiffly. If the left door is not latched in place, the right door may hang somewhat. The drawer has no pull.
