Early 19th century Portuguese side or console table crafted in oak and retaining its original painted finish in tones of red, yellow/ocher, brown, and related earth colors.
The table features two drawers accented by simple panel carving. A heavy carved dentil molded skirt anchors the lower section, and the table rests on slightly tapered legs.
The top shows significant wear from generations of use, including gouges, nicks, cracks, and evidence of old dried wormholes(no longer active). These details contribute to the deep aged character of the piece.
The table has been restored and is strong, stable, and ready to use. Interior drawer bottoms show age-related separation.
