Pair of Early 20th Century Swedish Gustavian Style White Painted Armchairs

Pair of early 20th century Swedish Gustavian style armchairs, crafted in pine and finished in a soft white painted surface. The paint has been rubbed and distressed over time, revealing natural wood below and creating the aged character that suits this pair well. Detailed egg and dart carving surrounds the backs, arms, and skirt, while turned, tapered, and fluted legs are topped by carved floral medallions. Graceful lines throughout give these chairs a refined and classic look. Both chairs are newly upholstered in a simple linen fabric along the backs, seats, and arms. Restored strong, stable, and ready for use. Minor cracks, nicks, scuffs, and dings are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty or function of these chairs.
