Early 19th century Swedish Gustavian small bench, crafted in pine. The bench features a decorative carved skirt and fluted tapered legs, giving the piece a graceful and classic form. At 3 feet long, the versatile size allows it to be used in a wide variety of locations. The painted finish is newer and professionally applied in antique white with soft gray undertones. The finish has been lightly distressed to reveal some natural wood below, creating depth and character that suits the age and grace of the bench. The seat is newly and simply upholstered in white linen fabric and would be easy to reupholster at the buyer’s discretion. The wood frame is restored, stable, and ready for use. Minor nicks, scratches, and signs of wear are consistent with years of use.
