Late 18th Century Danish Pine Small Chest of Drawers, Possible Jewelry Chest

Late 18th century Danish small chest of drawers, crafted in pine. Measuring only 20 inches wide by 21.5 inches high, this compact piece was originally made as a cabinet maker’s sample, allowing clients to order a larger customized chest in the same form. The chest features four drawers and is raised on curved feet and skirt. The two central drawers are flanked by carved turned columns and applied carved diamond accents are also present.
What appears to be mahogany veneer is actually a hand-painted faux wood background, a traditional style of the era.
Its small scale makes it appealing for use as a jewelry cabinet with potential to line the drawers, or use as an accent piece.
Old repairs are seen to the feet and top, while additional scratches, nicks/dings, cracks and typical age related separation are seen throughout, all consistent with the age of the small chest. Restored stable, and ready for use.
